CrapApr 25, 2009
By metaphist Played Melee for about 5 minutes and concluded that this is a piece of crap. (all this applies to playing on the Wii FYI)
- First and foremost, the C stick didn't even work at all during Melee. I didn't try any other games because I only have Melee for GC. Absolutely no c-stick action. Unacceptable for Melee.
- The X and Y buttons are insensitive - you can press them down lightly and absolutely nothing will happen, you HAVE to press them hard. Unacceptable for Melee.
- The Z button is a cheap click instead of the nice smooth depression of the regular GC controller. If you L-cancel with Z like me, then once again - unacceptable for Melee
- The analog has a rough texture to it as you move it around. It works fine, but is the roughness is noticeable.
- My L button had a very cheap spring sound that the R button did not, as if the R button was made correctly but the L button was not...
Like the review above mine states, you get what you pay for. For a total of $11 with shipping, I thought I would get a steal, but sadly it really IS worth the $7 it costs. You should probably go with one of those $24 white controllers that are out there.

Shipped unusableMar 09, 2009
By Jess I bought two of these to play super smash bros brawl with, and they dont work. The joysticks/analog sticks are horrible. It is like the springs inside, the "give" in the sticks has gone out--like it does on 10 years old controllers. And they were like this the first time I played with them as well, so I know I didn't do anything.

Low Low Quality for a Low Low PriceOct 31, 2009

"The Ascent of Wonder"
There is nothing literally wrong with this item, all the buttons press and the ones that click click and the joysticks that rotate rotate; but, it just feels cheap in your hand. The springs on the buttons are a lot harder that an official controller, which makes it hard to excute short button taps or hold the shoulder buttons down only halfway). The left joystick is very tochy and only reponds well to hard movements, heavan help you if you want to move you chracter only one pixel. To tell the differance in quality, turn rumble on with an official and this generic controller set them on the floor and let them rumble. In the generic one, when it rumbles, you will here a lot of things(I dont know what else to call it) vibrating in it, which makes me worry for the longevity of the controller the official one purrs like a kitten and NOTHING rattles in it. This controller is fine for games like Mario party, derivative movie games, or not competitive younger players; but, if you want fine control of your charter. i.e. (for quick executed fighting combos, then spend the extra bucks for an official controller or a WaveBird.

Was great at first, but you get what you pay for.Oct 24, 2009
By Hillary When I bought this controller it was priced at about $3. Of course the shipping was unreasonable, but it looks like that's been evened out now.
If there had been any reviews at the time of buying this, I would not have bought it. I bought it for use with the Wii, and have never had a Gamecube before. When I received the controller, I was very happy with it. It seemed to be exactly the same as a Gamecube brand controller (as far as I could tell) and worked great.
Fast forward to about a year later. The controller has gotten little use, maybe 40 hours max (which is not a lot for video games by any means, and I'm being very generous with my estimation). Today the left analogue stick broke for no reason (I was not using it heavily). I opened up the controller and saw that a piece of plastic actually wore and broke causing the analogue stick to not function properly.
I thought this was a stroke of bad luck but after reading the reviews that are now available, I do have to find it odd that a controller die after such light use. I have original Nintendo and Sega Genesis controllers (the first versions) that still work, for goodness sake.
Bottom line: it was good while it lasted, but it didn't last long.

Cheap and poorly-madeJul 11, 2009
By World Reader A cheap, poorly-made product. Unresponsive, sticky controls, poor quality, components, and it broke in less than a month.
