MY SITUATION:
i bought this from CVS for 50 bucks...i fell in love with it, but after a while, it broke..
well, i FREAKED out, and tried to exchange it for another one..(even though it was used, they were willing to exchange, EXCEPT i did'nt have my receipt)
So i went on amazon, and found it for 15 dollars...i was VERY skeptical at first, and thought it was some kinda of scam, but, i went ahead and bought it anyways deciding that if it WAS A scam, then i would NEVER buy anything cheap ever again online.
GOOD DECISION MADE:
So, i bought it and was VERY happy to see that it IS indeed in its original packaging, everything new, everything worked. It comes with Everything as said in the description
i would use my epilator over a shaver ANYDAY because with an epilator, the hair grows back soft, while on the other hand, using a shaver would cause it to grow back spiky (and who wants that?!)
OUCHNESS:
Yes, using the Epilator may hurt (ESPECIALLY in the underarm area) but hey, beauty hurts right? After a while though, you get used to it
HELPFUL HINTS:
When using an epilator, i suggest you NOT to rub on baby oil, lotion, shaving cream, etc.
(tends to get caught in the epilator, and throughout time, it would dry in there, and...JUST DON'T DO IT) :)
~Use the Comfort spray provided on sensitive spots (Ex: underarm)
~Clean Your Epilator after each usage with the brush provided
~ Unplug your Epilator after each usage!
~ Do not get ur Epilator wet
~ If your epilator does not turn on for whatever reason, keep in mind that the plug may be at fault too (that's what happened to me..so UNPLUG your epilator!)

I have just purchased this Veet epilator as my first epilator after doing a good deal of research on what epilator to buy, using mostly Amazon reviews, am thrilled with it, and have been motivated to write my first Amazon review because I believe in this product so much and want to spread the joy. This review is intended to help anyone else trying to figure out what epilator to buy (psst...I recommend this one). Please note that since I've just bought this I can't speak to its durability over time, and since this is my first epilator, I cannot compare it to other models. Also, I can't speak about the comfort spray, because I can't be bothered/don't want to use it.
What you need to know about me:
1)Have waxed up until now (maybe 7ish years?)
2)Woman with hirsutism from PCOS
3)This is my first epilator
Purchasing process: TRIED A LESS REVIEWED PRODUCT BECAUSE IT WAS CHEAP
I debated whether to go for an expensive but heavily reviewed public-favorite epilator like a Braun or an Emjoi Optima, or this Veet that, while they were good reviews, only had a few of them. I found a brand new Veet on eBay for $10.50 including shipping, so I went for it, and I am very pleased with my purchase. In fact, I can't believe I did without an epilator for so long. It's kind of like writing all your letters by hand and then someone handing you a typewriter. I don't understand why Veet doesn't market and push their epilator more heavily instead of relegating it to the you-wouldn't-even-know-they-made-it-cause-its-not-on-their-website ugly stepsister to their chemical depilatories and waxing.
Motivation for buying an epilator: UNSIGHTLY CHIN HAIRS
I've always used home wax systems or sugar goop that works like wax (Nair and Nads) ever since I needed to remove hair from my body, almost never shaved, because I didn't want to be a slave to shaving every other day. I liked how I could go weeks without caring about my hair, and push it to months depending on the area if I was feeling lazy. So I've been ripping hair off my body for about 7 years. This has always worked fine for me, but for me the cons of waxing were that you had to keep buying expensive kits (the Nads would always lose its consistency and become ineffective before I even got through a whole jar), the sticky mess and clean up washing off the cloth strips, and the fact that it was temperamental. Often it would do a good job of getting almost all the hair off in one rip, but sometimes, depending on temperature, humidity, the condition of my skin, the length of the hair, etc., there were hairs that it wouldn't get even after multiple applications of a wax strip (yes, I know depending on the product that you're not suppose to wax the same area repeatedly).
In the past 6 months, I started to get very coarse, dark, conspicuous hairs growing on and under my chin similar to what you would find in a man's beard but more spread out (hirsutism). While it was okay if waxing left some fine leg hair, it did not do a good enough job for my chin. As hard as I tried, the waxing did not get all the conspicuous hairs, whether because they were too short or because it just didn't want to pick them up. I refused to shave them and encourage them to grown in like an actual beard or risk the coarseness getting worse, and so resorted to tweezing individual hairs, which was time consuming and ineffective. So I bought this epilator to first and foremost take care of my chin hair.
Revelant issues to consider when buying an epilator:
From reading many reviews, I've pinpointed a few things that were significant to people when buying an epilator. Here they are and the Veet specific info for these concerns.
1) AC Powered (YES)
Many reviews claimed that corded epilators are more effective than battery powered ones because the battery powered epilators only get a few minutes of full power before they start weakening, and then they don't work as well. The Veet is corded.
2) Pulls out hair by the roots / doesn't break hairs (YES)
To the extent that I can tell, it looks like most if not almost all the hairs the Veet pulled out had the little root bulbs at the end. I'm very satisfied with this.
3) Area of the body it works on (not going to speak for the company in case I'm missing something in the instructions)
The epilator can clearly be used on underarms, legs, and the bikini line. The instructions say that the COMFORT SPRAY is not supposed to be used near the face, but nowhere did I see it say that you can't use the EPILATOR on the face, and I did so with great success.
Discomfort: NOT BAD AT ALL
Based on general epilator reviews, I was expecting it to be quite painful, but honestly I find it minimally uncomfortable on calves, chin, under chin, and upper lip, and I haven't used the comfort spray provided. These areas were no problem for me. Some discomfort was an indication that I wasn't pulling my skin taught enough, which actually helps a lot. My knees are the most sensitive to waxing, and were the most sensitive to the epilator as well. They were uncomfortable, but not painful enough that I couldn't easily see it through. I would say that the half second where you rip off the strip in waxing is definitely more painful than anything I felt with the epilator, but you also have to consider that waxing is only split second discomfort with lots of prep time in-between, while with the epilator you have to put up with a constant slight discomfort or else take lots of breaks if it's getting to you. Now I'm sure that, because I've waxed for so many years, I'm not as sensitive to the pain of ripping out my hair as someone who hasn't removed their hair by the roots before. I had never waxed under my chin until less than 6 months ago, though, so that supports the conclusion that you don't have to wax for years on end before you can bare the touch of an epilator.
Performance/Results: EXCELLENT
It got all the hairs that I wanted it to get! When you have man-hair growing on your chin, even the pretty short stub is an eyesore, but this Veet epilator got everything that was conspicuous, and I feel so much better about my appearance now. The instructions say that it can get hair short as 0.5 mm. As I stated above, it seems it got the roots of almost everything too instead of breaking the hair. As far as efficiency goes, don't expect it to get everything in one pass. You can't just glide it down your leg once to take care of a whole section like you might with a sharp razor (I'm guessing that's how good razors work. I've always had to go over an area a few times with one). Instead I targeted a 1.5 by 1.5 inch area at a time and swept it over the area. With a few dabs, it got the hair there. And better yet, I had great success using it to get at a particular hair that I wanted gone that it might have left behind initially. It's possible that the benefit of a more expensive model over this one is that they might get more on a single sweep--I couldn't tell you one way or the other. I operated it at both high and low speeds for over a half hour with only short intervals of turning it off with so visible strain on the motor. I can't speak to ingrown hairs because it hasn't been long enough yet since I epilated.
Time: GOOD, COMPARABLE TO WAXING
I ran the epilator almost constantly with only a few very short breaks. I was very satisfied with how quickly I could get my face and chin done, and am 100% on board with maintaining my face with an epilator instead of waxing from now on. I would have liked my two calves to have gone a little bit faster, and my leg hair was still somewhat sparse. I regret not timing my calves (maybe 35 minutes or more, or maybe it just felt that long), but I would say that it was somewhat longer than ideal waxing (if I applied wax in large strips and they each pulled off all the hair in their section in the first go) and probably comparable to realistic home waxing where you have to go back and attack patches left behind. The cleanup is quicker than waxing-no mess, just a quick brush off of the device and wash the loose hair down the drain!
Other Pros:
1) Hair stays gone for weeks (I'm assuming. It's only been a day since I've used it, but I've seen that it does pull the hair out by the roots like waxing. I've also found that after years of
waxing my calf hair has grown back sparser--maybe an epilator will do the same thing?).
2) No replacement parts needed, no other cost to you after you purchase the unit.
3) No sticky mess. Just clean, dry hair plucking.
4) 30 second clean up time.
5) Comes with plastic protector for the head, clean up brush, and nice little bag to keep everything together.

Concluding Thoughts/Future Use:
I love this little thing so much--I wish I'd gotten it a lot sooner and I want to recommend it to every female in my life. I've very happy with it and see no need to upgrade to a more expensive model anytime in the near future. It is what I am going to use for my face and chin from now on. I'm not sure if I would use it for a full hairy leg--I think I might quickly wax first and then use the epilator to clean up the spots waxing missed in order to save time and avoid spending an hour of continuously pulling out my hair bit by bit instead of in short bursts. I feel confident, however, that, now that my calves are hair free, I can use the epilator to maintain them as the hair grows back at different rates without falling back to waxing again. One thing's for certain: this device is perfect for touch-ups, at home or on the go, anytime!

The color of this unit should not turn off guys who need an epilator. I had previously shaved my chest - while it looked smooth it felt like thick stubble. The result with the Veet was totally smooth skin; no comparison with shaving. The pain is manageable. It is best just to hold the Veet against the skin and just go for it - jump in all the way fast. I had a tendency to pull the unit away when I felt the first "sting" but that just made it seem more painful. When I kept holding it against the skin and kept going, it wasn't bad.
The way it works is really neat and the clean-up is very easy (it is mostly self cleaning as it releases the hairs after pulling them).
I don't know how any product could do the job better. Considering that other epilators go for many times the price of this unit, it is an excellent value. The results exceeded my expectations.

Ok, literally used this product 5 minutes ago for the first time and it wasn't bad in the least. I gotta admit, I was hella scared reading the various reviews on epilators in general but once I got started, it was so comfortable.
I chose this model mainly because of the price and because it came with the comfort spray. I really, really was scared. I thought hey, if this may be sumn I throw in the wall because its caused me so much pain then why spend $70 on it u kno. But the most I felt was a slight annoyance towards it, maybe because of the noise. Note, the area that I started with was my bikini line. I must have a high pain threshold cuz this area is suppose to be super sensitive. I have waxed before as well.
What bugged me the most was the length of time it took to do just one small patch. After I realized how comfortable it was I was planning to do a brazillian. LOL!! But that would take forever. I had to eventually move to my den to watch the tv (I live alone)so I could get comfortable enough to get it looking how I wanted. Maybe I'll upgrade to one that has more tweezers sooner than later.

Ok im a guy and i've use this for my chest and abs (not to work out with). The hair i use it on is probably light+ to medium as far as amount and thickness goes compared to most guys, I've also waxed and used creams. My experience with wax was positive for my stomach area (though a huge mess in my bathroom) on my chest however, i got those annoying red bumps that stick around for way to long, veet and nair creams do not cause redness/bumps on my chest, this epilator does although not as much as waxing. I had hoped this would solve that problem with my chest but unfortunately it didnt and i dont use this on my chest. So if you were looking at this as a possible solution to removing hair at the root without the bumps of waxing im sorry but that wont be the case. It works pretty well especially for the 20 dollaRS i paid for it on ebay, sometimes it takes a few passes to get all the hair in an area but im ok with that and unless its pulling out hairs it wont hurt as it passes over your skin, unlike waxing over a certain area multiple times which is very hard on your skin. Its more painful than waxing, but overall not terrible (dont be a sissy!) and it definitely does feel less painful the more times you do it. It is quicker than waxing i think, and also great for small spots cuz you dont have to get everything ready like you do for waxing. All in all im happy with it, iv owned it about a month and i believe my waxing days are over (awesome!), i use this and "Hair No More" hair inhibitor spray, it slows down and eventually stops hair growth! It works slowly but surely and i encourage you guys to look it up. My only complaints about this thing is it does still give me red bumps on my chest (although not as bad as waxing), it does take a few passes to get every hair (or maybe im just not a pro at it?) and the roller tweezer part has a concave in it instead of just being flat, iv got a hard body ;) and the concave is sometimes a little hard to reach over the curves, and I dont think this would be to pleasant an experience if you have really thick long coarse hair, any ways hope this was helpful! If you get this or any epilator i would recommend aloe lotion and a hair inhibitor!
