A great and discrete external USB storage unitJan 10, 2009
By Guy Tower I use this product weekly. You plug it to your PC USB and it becomes an extra drive. No software to install. Then u drag what u want to save, from your PC to the extra drive. What could be easier? It comes with 2 USB plugs, but unless you have a very old PC, you use only one plug, which operates the storage unit and transmit data at the same time. I highly recommend using this unit. Then you can hide all this back-up under your mattress. the sleek unit is portable and fits in your pocket.
No problems so farOct 25, 2008
By xxatti I bought one of these a few months ago and it hasn't crashed on me so far, so I give it 4 stars. It will run on either 1 or 2 usb ports. You don't have to use 2 (at least I don't on my laptop). I do wish it was faster though. I've heard of people having problems with Maxtor drives in the past... so I'm still a bit weary about this one. Honestly, I would prefer to buy a Western Digital over this.
Big storage at a good price - no complaintsSep 20, 2008
By Once a geek, ... This portable unit does exactly what you want it to, store 320GB (well, 298GB really) of data. It's attractive and compact.
Note that it requires TWO USB ports. I don't know if all of these portable USB drives require two USB ports, but I was a bit surprised. It's also not particularly fast: I am seeing 4-5MB/sec on my Dell D830.
But I am quite satisfied with the volume, the performance, and especially the price. Nice unit. I'd buy another.
