 Great except for pre-installed softwareApr 22, 2009

I like this drive. Looks nice and solidly built... and the black version I bought was much cheaper than the other colors. The only problem which causes me to knock off a star is the pre-installed U3 software which made it a hassle to use this drive in my Vista x64 machine. I had to stick it in an XP 32-bit system to uninstall the software so that it would work right in my Vista computer.

Since flash drives are essentially all the same, I usually try to find one from a decent brand that's on sale. I did just this with the SanDisk Cruzer Gator. Sure, being a guy I don't really care if my flash drive looks like it's made out of alligator. But then again, I don't really have a preference. So when this bad boy went on sale for cheap, I picked one up. It works great, I have had no problems with. 4GB is more than enough for most day-to-day needs. It's size makes it very portable - its roughly the same size as a AA battery. If you can get it for a good price, go for it.s

Besides being stylish, the SanDisk SDCZP-4096-A11BL 4GB Cruzer Gator is compact (shorter than most other brands) and has a lid that stays in place. It does come with the option to use with the U3 software programs or you can opt out. First time you plug it in it will give you the opportunity to choose. Red LED light lets you know when drive is in use. A flashdrive of this capacity and with these features for this price can't be beat.

I bought this flash drive to use with my new netbook. It works prefectly. Not too big. Doesn't block any other USB ports. Comes with a cap that fits securely. Feels very durable all around. Alligator "skin" finish is subtle enough to not be a problem. I loaded a bunch of programs onto the U3 partition, which is very handy. Set-up was easy. I also had enough room to load backtrack3, so now I can boot-up in Linux (Debian) were ever I go! Great product.

I found this little 'Gator' to be great. It is very small and is easy to use. It looks great also. I liked it so well that I ordered another 'cause at this price I could not go wrong.
