I bought this drive in the middle of March and installed it in my computer at about the beginning of April. The drive quit working by June. That's 3 months of use at most out of this peace of junk. I probably didn't get more then about 5 uses out of the drive before I couldn't even get it to respond to my computer. The place it came from only offers a 30 day return policy so now I'm stuck with it. I will be making a claim to Amazon I hope they do something for me. I wish I had kept my old drive at least it worked sometimes.

K I called to get authorized for an exchange of the first drive I recieved. I got great customer service and instruction for making the return. The turn around was great, in one week they had the drive and shipped me a new one that worked perfect. Now my girlfriend thinks I'm a hero for repairing her laptop and I found a great place to go for parts. Thanks Cbearcomputer @ Amazon

The drive was slightly to big for my laptop and it would not close properly. I clipped a small amount off the side of the door and it was fine. Works good. Because it was not the correct replacement for my dell 1525 I can see some of the drive when I flip the laptop over. The drive itself works fine.

Works perfectly in my dell. Fits slightly more inset than the stock drive that came with computer but I don't care about that any way. Sell sent item right away and was exactly as described.

I bought one of these last year for a friends laptop that needed repair. His drive was dead. This one replaced it and he is still using that laptop to this day with no trouble from the dvd-rom anymore.
