 Good sound quality, annoying features (and lack of)Nov 24, 2008

I always liked Panasonic products but this one is going back. The sound quality is fine, but there are too many issues:
- Caller ID is really cumbersome
- No indicator of how many messages have been received
- REALLY annoying ringtones. Most of them drive my dogs NUTS!
- Keypad not lighted
- Amber LED stays ON all the time unless a message is waiting (in which case, it flashes): it is bright enough I wouldn't want to put it in my bedroom!
The only reason I was upgrading from my 4-5 year old Uniden set was that it was 2.4 GHz and suffered from interference with our microwave and wireless router. I didn't realize it had so many features that I just took for granted. Now I've ordered a Uniden DECT 6.0 phone system, which should be much better!
P.S. Minor annoyance: the packing slip shows it was supposed to have 6 NiMH batteries, but it only had a package of 4.

I bought purchased this for my parents, and I noticed that the voicemail playback isn't loud enough. I've turned the volume to its maximum, but it's very quiet. It's hard for me to hear most of our messages. My parents have a difficult time trying to figure out what people are saying half the time. It has a lot of features we do not use. I really wish it would have cut those features off and stuck on making the main features at least audible.

This phone is terrific! I just love that I don't have to have jacks in a room to have a phone there. I find the ringer very pleasant and the sound quality is excellent. No complaints.
