Decent cordless phone system for the priceMar 21, 2010
By S. Dembowski I got this when I needed more handsets at home (old Panasonic system not made anymore). I like the build quality and the sound quality is good too. One little thing I really liked: The handsets use standard AAA NiMH batteries. When they do need replacement, I can buy them just about anywhere instead of looking for a specific Panasonic battery pack.
I use this when I work from home and use a headset too. The sound quality in the wired headset sounds fine to me and no on I speak to notices any issue. The range seems good as I use this outside in my backyard as well.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONEFeb 21, 2010
By M. Yacht The phone looks great, it has great features and if all you will ever use is the handsets then you'll be fine with this phone. But if you ever have a problem and Panasonic wants to replace the phone, they will offer you ONLY a refurbished model. Even if your model is brand new and less than a day old.
In addition, a wired headset DOES NOT WORK WELL with this phone, desite it having the jack. The sound quality is exceptionally poor (I am even using the recommended model of headset from Panasonic). They claim they have no recorded other issues of this problem and they are lying. Do a google search and you'll see other people with this same problem that have called tech support only to have to return the phone.
Save yourself a headache. Buy an AT&T or Uniden. Avoid Panasonic. Their tech support is laughable (they told me to turn up the speaker phone volume to adjust the OUTGOING headset volume...) and their customer service is disservice (a refurb model for a 5-hour old new phone? I think not).

This is a great system!Jan 07, 2011

I bought this Panasonic set to replace a Uniden set. So far, I like this set much better. The call quality is crystal clear and people hear me just fine. I like having an extension in a lot of rooms, no more running for the phone. Plus it has talking caller ID. I love that! I know who's calling before I get to the phone. Some of the pronunciations are a hoot. The set was very easy to setup. No more imputing numbers in all the handsets. I did one, and it was all finished. I like the looks of the phone and I also like having the extra dial on the base. The volume is good, the battery life is good. There's nothing that I haven't like. Panasonic is a highly rated brand, plus the price is very good.
No privacy feature/Volume a bit lowMay 13, 2011
By hopeful08 I was amazed to see no privacy feature on these, especially since the Panasonic web site description for this model shows that it is there. Its possible to evesdrop on an existing outside call by just picking up any of the four remaining handsets. There is no privacy setting to lock out new handsets from joining. You can sort of tell that another handset joined by a slight degradation of the audio. You can also tell by looking at the dispay - which now shows "Conf."
The privacy feature is apparently available on a couple of higher end models, if Panasonic's on-line manuals are to be believed. It used to be standard on the older models in this price-range.
Also, the DECT 6.0 volume is a bit low for the outside voice, even on its highest setting. The older models (pre-Dect) had higher volume.
Durable and reliable phone from PanasonicJan 12, 2011

This is one of my favorite phones that knows how to handle unwelcomed calls, with a long-lasting battery that should save you trips to the charging base.
Pros: -Comfortable Handset -Easy To Set Up -Good Sound -Good Speakerphone -Nice Features -Strong Signal -Wide Range -Great reliability
Cons: Storing of phone numbers required some learning. Solution: read the manual.
