The Dual Action 2-in-1 Video Game System has separate circuitry and card slots for both 16-bit Sega Genesis and 8-bit NES System, allowing it to play games for both consoles. It features a single-pole, double-throw power switch with open position; the switch can be thrown to 8-Bit (NES) or 16-Bit (GENESIS), or opened to Off.
The Dual Action 2-in-1 Video Game System connects through an RCA connector, and can be hooked into a surround sound system. When using stereo and surround output from these systems, NES sounds and music may seem very different from their typical mono output. Using output modes that properly generate mono sound, either through a single center speaker or cloned to multiple speakers, the sound output sounds mostly identical to the original NES. Now you can enjoy both the NES and the Genesis retro games without looking to replace both of your broken gaming systems. | | | Features: | |

2-in-1 Video Game System/Gen X consoleMar 07, 2008

Got one of these the other day. Gamepads are responsive and are similar to the newer genesis 6 button pads. I can only recommend this system as a affordable genesis/mega drive replacement.
The NES portion seems problematic. Which unfortunately was the main reason i purchased this. Just like the original old front loading NES,some games need to be reseated a few times to work. While others seem to work on the first boot. I even cleaned my cartridges prior to using the system,to avoid the possibility of dirty contacts.
Also dragon warrior 2 doesn't work,i suspect the same games that don't work on the FC Twin and the YOBO NES may be the case with this one also.
Some other gripes i have with the system Build quality is cheap. The small foot print and lightness of the system makes cartridge removal a pain. You have to pick up the system to remove NES carts.
Gamepad cords could be about 2 feet longer and could be slightly bigger.
NES sound playback has line noise from the power supply.
-------------------------- Additional Editing 8-26-08 -------------------------- After addional play testing I found some genesis games actually slow down and speed up while playing. Poor emulation or the processor isnt up to snuff.
Ignore my original 3 star rating. If you can find a used genesis cheap, you may be beter off.

3/4s of a systemJul 29, 2008
By Dan - Charlotte NC as stated by others - plays sega games great -- nes games are another story. probably about 1/2 the nes games work with some effort. i ended up buying a old nes system which works flawlessly. controllers are a little cheap with this system and it is hard to put the games in and out without feeling like you may break something.

So-so Video Quality; Horrible SoundAug 06, 2008

I bought this strictly for the Sega side. I have yet to try the NES part. The video has a subtle wavy pattern to it.
It doesn't show up so much on a small analog TV, but if you plug it into a newer digital TV, it gets wavy. My original Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 don't have the wavy issues.
Also the sound is just plain horrible. It crackles like a cheap stereo. I have tried this system on several TVs and always the same thing.
I didn't think NHL 94 beats could get worse, but on this system it hurts your ears.
I did like the controllers. We have a lot of NHL 94 tourneys and everyone likes to play with these controllers. These controllers will not fit the regular Sega. They shaped them differently.

Plays the games until your controllers breakJul 11, 2010
By madgamer Both controllers for this system failed (D Pad broke off in unfixable manner) in less than a year and I cannot purchase new ones online either from amazon or hyperkin. This system works to play sega games and the controller looks like a sega genesis controller but a sega genesis controller cannot fit in the system's controller port. Im going back to my policy of not buying 3rd party crap for my video gaming enjoyment.

By kingtut Hey everyone. Don't buy this because it really sucks. I owned one myself. The controller are cheap and don't work 100%. Also the sound is horrible. The sound chip makes the games sound like crap. The whole thing is poorly built. I would just buy the original nes and sega. It will spear you a world of hurt. This system is a piece of junk. If you don't believe me then buy one and try it out.
