Worked great...for about a year.Nov 03, 2011
By Derrick Small I had this amp wired for 2ohms into 2 MTX T5510-04 subs in a custom enclosure. It was pure gold for about a year, until it suddenly failed. Now when the amp is energized, it gives off these low pulsing tomes about once every second, and will not pump any actual audio. I used 4 gauge wire and got a good ground in my trunk floor. She's dead. =\
I don't know if my amp failed due to my own abuse, improper installation, or a manufacturing defect. My only recommendation would be to keep it at 4ohms, maybe she will last longer for you than she did for me. It was great while it lasted!

Bought this product in january and it absolutly pounds the stuff out of my subs, which i have matching jackhammer 12" in a ported box. Works great at 2 ohms and it can work 4 ohms too. Would recommend this product to anyone new to car audio since this is a great buy for the price and performance. The wattage on the actual unit is about 630 rms for 2 ohms, 390 rms about for 4 ohms and about 1400 watts for peak power at 2 ohms. Mtx has never let me down and package arrived very fast 1 day after purchacing 4-7 day shipping from [...].
Pros: Solid amp, lots of wattage for the price, great features. Can play in winter or summer(i tested it out so far in winter in negative temps and it works great after it warms up).
Cons: None so far(Mtx brand will last)

By jkirk this amp is probably the best amp i have ever had i would advise getting a capacitor with it even though its just 600 rms it dims my head lights enough to have one. i will be buying another amp like this in the future to hook up my other subs(kicker 15" and kicker 12") its pushing 2 12" sony xplods 1200 watt peak right now and it makes them thump!

Great ItemApr 14, 2009

This amp is amazing. Being an MTX already told me it would be an awesome product, but after buying and using it in combination with my two MTX subs this amp has left me with nothing to desire. Great clean sound, and hard hitting power. Don't settle for a cheaper brand product, spend the extra cash for this awesome MTX amp, and quite honestly the price isn't all that bad when you take into account the quality of the product.
