Greater rangeJul 24, 2008
By Wilbur Sachs This product is far superior to the Linksys a&g adapter which it replaces, because it has a much greater and more powerful range. Also, Linksys customer service is excellent and provided assistance in removing the previous software and installing the new program.
Linksys WPC300N Wireless N Notebook AdapterJan 30, 2011
By R. Weidman I purchased this product to use with a Compaq P1510 notebook. The notebook originally had Windows XP Professional, but was replaced with Ubuntu. I had a Linksys wireless b adaptor which would only accept WEP for security of the network. I purchased the Linksys WPC300N to be able to use WAP for network security. Ubuntu automatically detected the chipset used in the Linksys WPC300N and the new card works great. Replacing the Windows with Ubuntu and the addition of this new card makes this old laptop seem like a new high speed device. Web browsing is such fun now. Click a link and the page loads instantly....so fast. For all those Ubuntu people this is a great device.
Go wirelessApr 18, 2009

I guess it was worth waiting all these years to go wireless because I got my wireless n router and notebook adapter for under $100.
Linksys WPC300N ReviewFeb 16, 2009
By Jeff The software installation and adapter installation works flawlessly with my Toshiba Notebook. I am typically seeing throughput speeds in excess of 90 Mbps, typically up to 130 Mbps.
For McAfee Internet Security/Virus protection users I offer the following tip: If you have degraded performance where you first have internet access then lose it> try uninstalling the McAfee firewall portion of your program and using the Windows firewall instead. I leave you to your own conclusions.
