The wired FM transmiter works great, the interference is minimal, you can only notice it between songs or when the song volume is very low. It is very easy to connect, even in European cars (I own a Renault), all you need is an antenna adapter.
If your stereo does not support RCA inputs (which offers the best sound quality), the best way to connect the HK adaptor for the ipod is this cable. It reduces interference significantly (I tried it both ways: wired and wirelessly and the difference is obvius)

The installation of this adapter is a snap, although you may have to order additional antenna cable adapters for your specific vehicle. Even though it directly inputs through the antenna jack, local FM stations will still interfere with the signal, although the quality of the audio is very good. If you travel, you will probably have to change frequencies but the H-K Adapter lets you change to whatever FM frequency you choose (not all FM units allow this).

Simple to install and makes the world of difference using my drive and play....virtually removes all interference but be aware the quality of your recording will be put to the test. The lower the quality, the more it stands out using this transmitter. All in all though, 10 out of 10!

I know hardware and this is NOT A MODULATOR. Contains no signal modulating equipment. Its just a cheap line splitter (connected metal). You could make one. But it is not a modulator. I would think that if the title says modulator it would contain some modulating hardware. Do not buy if you want to modulate a analog signal (like from and mp3) before passing it to a fm receiver. Those of use who would assume something titled a modulator would be a modulator, would mistakenly buy.

This product does not work, I have call Harman Kardon and the tech told me it does not work, I will geve them another call and try to talk to another tech about this issue.
