Mixed ResultsSep 09, 2008
By Chuck The unit works as described, but the picture when using the PC is fuzzy and there is low-level static in the sound. I bought it to hook up an old PS2 to my monitor and that seems to work just fine for that (although that picture may be a bit fuzzy as well, but it's been a while since I've seen PS2 games in action, so it's hard to judge.)
Bottom Line:
There has to be better VGA box than this.

Great product but...Jan 30, 2010

I loved the fact that I could play my old PS2 games from the comfort and convenience of my desk and be able to switch back to using my computer on my monitor whenever I wanted. However, I guess no matter what resolution I could fiddle with, the screen was always horribly blurry for my taste. I could barely see. Even when I switched back to PC channel on the VGA box, there were blinding scan lines that ran across my screen making it impossible to focus on text for more than about 2-3 minutes.
I will say, regardless of my bad experience the VGA box is a wonderful tool if you don't get the problems I had, or if you're less sensitive to it than I am. There is no other solution out there for playing your old PS2 games on a flat screen television or monitor unless you want to deal with a weird, stretched out pixel, square box inside rectangle look. So I believe the VGA Box has a definite niche in the world of convenience gaming.
VGA Box (Wonder Box)Jan 06, 2012
By DaChamp76 I love this VGA Box. I have two Game systems and a DVD player hooked up to a computer monitor. Frees the TV and provides an entertainment outlet.
This thing is pure and utter garbage.Feb 27, 2011
By Joseph Takesh This thing is so bad it should be illegal to sell.
I tried playing a PS2 game on my monitor using this and it looked worse then my awful TV by A LOT.
It uses a method of conversion called pixel doubling, there are alternatives to VGA conversion like the XVGA2 and while more expensive at least they work as they should.
Overall Good ProductSep 03, 2009

There's just one issue. The headphone/line out port is too close to the VGA ports. This forces the user to find a minimalist style cable to connect to speakers/stereos with. There has to be as little plastic/insulation around the plug as possible for it to fit smoothly. Luckily I had one on that just barely fits. I may still have to shave off about half a millimeter to get it to truly be straight. As for sound quality, if you really want it clear, make sure to put a ground loop isolator between it and the sound system if you don't use self powered speakers or the speakers in the monitor (if so equipped). I've had no issues with snow or other visual artifacts either.
Basically, this product works well and actually supports more resolutions than the manual says (it does support a 1366 by 768 widescreen format). It just needs a full millimeter or two more space between the VGA port and the stereo out jack to make the connections easier to work with.
