1Don't buy anything from KANAdirect!!!Apr 12, 2006
By mannyman
As with the previous reviewers this is not worth the money spent on shipping. I would gladly spend double the cost to send it back. It might as well be labeled DDR for you cellphone, the graphics and music are horrible. At least your cell phone could play decent music. Doom had better music to dance too. As I too bought this not wanting to spend the money on a console it not worth it. You'll be sorely disappointed. mannyman

3let me clarify the mixed reviews....Dec 10, 2006
By Jeff L. Olney "music, music, music"
If you've never played a Dance Dance Revolution game before, then this pad is perfectly OK. Go ahead and get it.

but.....

If you've played Dance Dance Revolution before, and you're expecting the classic songs that are listed as being available, and semi-decent graphics, you will be HORRIBLY disappointed (as I was) with this game.

The music is in MIDI format; it's tones. That's it. Follow the sun, If you were here, all those classic Dance Dance Revolution songs are nothing but computer bleeps and blips that make a horrible attempt at sounding like the originals.

But if you've never played DDR before, then you'll never know the difference.

1Piece of JunkOct 23, 2006
By Steffi
Don't even waste your time on this piece of junk. If you want to play DDR, fork out the extra dollar it would probably cost you to buy the REAL thing than ATTEMPT to play this crap plug-n'-play game.

Let me just say this to all the people out there who are selling this and using the factory description. THESE ARE NOT STEREO QUALITY SONGS. Please take that out of the description!!! I was tricked into buying one of these things thinking that it would be like a nifty DDR game without the console and I was upset to find upon turning it on that the songs are too easy, the pad has little to no sensitivity, the graphics are pathetic, and the soundtrack to a 1980's pacman arcade game would put the music on this dance pad to shame. Upon receiving my item and finding out what a poor investment it was, I promptly contacted the seller to tell her that I don't appreciate being ripped by false advertising. She then told me that I can't expect to have good graphics and songs without a console and, gee, whatever would make me think that this had good graphics and songs? Couldn't be the description that clearly STATES so, would it? Yes, I'm being sarcastic and bitter because I paid 20 dollars (including shipping) for this hunk of junk.

And another thing, most sellers overcharge for shipping. Don't allow them to do it. If they charge you anymore than 10 dollars for shipping, they are ripping you off. DON'T BUY IT! I kept the address label on my box and entered in all the info (weight, size, zip codes) on the usps website and the shipping for the standard box it came in should have cost only 4.99. I was charged 16.00 dollars. Some will say that the shipping price compensates for how cheap the selling price of the item was.

...No. For how horrible this dance pad is, it should have been free. And then it should have been burned.

All in all, I wouldn't pay five cents for this game. It's over-priced, barely works, and the music and graphics are just...embarassing. Do yourself a favour, go out, and buy a real DDR pad and game. Buy the whole Playstation system if you have to. Don't get ripped off like I did.

And the worst part? Seller didn't offer a refund.

4Good for little girlsDec 29, 2006
By Brian Baird "Fan Dad"
Here's the deal with this item: it's fine for little girls (and I suppose, little boys that are inclined to dance) who haven't been exposed to a better dance game. I got this for Christmas for my 5 year old daughter; she takes dance, likes dancing, has never had or known about another 'Dance Dance Revolution' game, and she LOVES IT. It's a big hit; she's jumping all over the place, adds up her score at the end of each song, and it's been a great, cheap gift, with exercise to boot.

No, it's not sophisticated. Older kids or teens (not to mention adults) would grimace in pain over the ancient graphics and lousy sound. For them, get one that goes in their PlayStation or whatever.

However, many 5 year old girls don't have a PlayStation, or need one. This is perfect for them. For $[...] and shipping, it worked out great for a little kid. For a teen, it's $[...] wasted. That's the difference.

3An addicting let-down...Dec 07, 2005
By Lisa Davis
Don't expect the bells and whistles that you find in the Playstation or Xbox versions of Dance Dance Revolution. This version offers wonderful ease and cost, since all you need is a TV. But it does not save high scores, have different versions of play, or much of anything else. It follows the basic DDR premise of using your feet to touch arrows on the mat that correspond to the arrows scrolling across the screen. At the end of play you see a score and how many hits and misses you had, but that's about it. If you have a game system, get the "real version." If not, this might or might not be a satisfying substitute. It might depend on whether or not you've been spoiled by the more advanced versions. But it sure would be easy to pack and take along when travelling with kids, perhaps for a holiday trip to Grandma's house where there are no video game systems.
